(CNN) - Japanese tech giant Sony is going old-school.
The legendary record label is bringing back vinyl records.
Sony stopped making vinyl records in 1989 when compact discs became the norm for albums. Today, many music fans - both young and old - are once again "spinning the black circle."
Consulting firm Deloitte said vinyl sales have enjoyed double-digit growth for seven straight years. Sales could reach $900 million in 2017.
Sony is betting that growth will continue. Production is set to begin in March 2018 at a factor in Japan.
