OMAHA, NE (KMTV/CNN) - A girls’ soccer team in Nebraska is making a big statement with their haircuts.
The youth team was recently kicked out of a tournament because one of the players was mistakenly listed on the roster as a boy.
After a week of controversy over gender confusion on their roster, Mili Hernandez's team is stepping up to support her. The team decided to all cut their hair.
Some players cut a little off and some cut more than a foot.
Mili, who has been grateful for all the support, says this was the best part of the last week.
"I thought it was gonna be weird. I used to see them when their hair used to be long, but now it's gonna be short," she said.
With the attitude of "short hair, don't care," the team showed amazing unity while supporting one of their own.
