DESCHUTES COUNT, OR (CNN/RNN) – While most Americans celebrated Independence Day on a boat or at a back-yard barbecue, Oregonians enjoyed the holiday weekend by skiing down powdery slopes.
Mount Bachelor near Bend, OR had more than 10 feet of snow on the ground after 560 inches of snowfall this past season. So, they brought back their JulySki tradition from July 2-4.
With a peak of 9,065 feet, guests wore lighter clothing as they enjoyed the ninth time the resort had enough snow to hold the JulySki event in its 58-year history.
