ST. LOUIS (KMOV/CNN) - A sinkhole opened up in St. Louis Thursday morning.
Jordan Westerberg told the St. Louis Post-Dispatch he went to the gym and when he returned, his car had been swallowed by the sinkhole.
Greg Prater, the city and traffic inspector, says an eight-inch water main is the cause and has been broken for some time.
A crane has removed the car from the sinkhole.
It will take weeks before the street is repaired.
No one was injured.
