SEMINOLE COUNTY, FL (WFTV/CNN) - Authorities had to shut down a Florida interstate on Friday after a plane made an emergency landing on Interstate 4 near Orlando.
Officials say the single-engine plane sustained damage upon landing, but no one was injured.
The pilot reportedly radioed into Orlando Executive Airport saying he was almost out of gas, and saying he was the only person on board.
“OK, my engine has completely died and we're going to have to put it down right here on the side of the highway," the pilot told the airport tower, WFTV reported.
Officials say the FAA is investigating.
