WILTON, IA (WQAD/CNN) - In cities and towns across the country, high school seniors are gathering for their senior portraits.
But in a small town in Iowa, Ben Shirk takes those traditional photos of jackets and ties and conservative blouses and turns them into something much more dramatic.
He's getting clients from all over the country to take their pictures to the extreme.
"We do a lot of stuff in studio on green screen and then can recreate some very graphic, unique images that look more like a Nike or Under Armor ad," Shirk said.
Eleanor Drexel is one such client. She's working with Shirk on pictures to display her skill as a soccer player.
"Hopefully, he'll have some in the air," Drexel said. "Really capture my muscles."
Shirk is always thinking of new things to do with his art. He's taken his work all over the world, and has won awards for his pictures.
"The mind is like a muscle," Shirk said. "The more you work with it, and the more times you spend being creative and practicing being creative and being around creative people, kind of builds that creativity."
