LOS ANGELES (KCAL/KCBS/CNN) - Could the iconic Hollywood sign be getting a twin?
It's one of dozens of ideas to alleviate traffic at the landmark Griffith Park.
"You get the smells. You get all the birds and nature or whatever, and it's just nice," jogger Andy Mendoza said.
The scenery, the smells and the view of the iconic Hollywood sign is what makes Griffith Park a hot spot for both locals and tourists.
"I love hiking the mountains and getting up to the top of the mountains and looking down at the beautiful view I love it." hiker Michelle Artiaga said.
One of the top attractions for hikers is the iconic Hollywood sign.
It's become so popular, people who live nearby say they're fed up with visitors and their cars clogging residential streets.
"The traffic turning up Ferndale becomes insane," Alastair Duncan said.
It's no secret, if you don't get here early enough, some days you can't even find a place to park.
City leaders hired a consultant to come up with ways to alleviate the congestion.
One idea is a replica Hollywood sign on the other side of the hills facing Burbank.
"That one I find ludicrous. What would that actually mean, a second Hollywood sign?" Duncan
An aerial tram to the sign, a designated rideshare location and another trail are among 30 ideas in the report.
Neighbors said they hope changes are made soon so access to the landmark is much smoother.
