A Cayce, SC man called the police to report missing drugs he believed were stolen from his home, according to an incident report from the Cayce Department of Public Safety.

The incident happened on Aug. 5 when a man called 911 to report that he had two grams of meth missing and wanted to prosecute whoever was responsible.

The report says officers even helped the man look for his missing meth.

The incident report says that officers were given baggies from a woman that had "a clear crystal-like substance consistent with that of meth." The man said it was not his missing narcotics.

After police weren't able to find the man's missing meth, they talked to the woman who said she took the meth earlier and hid it because she didn't want the man "to drink it," according to the incident report.

"There was no arrest made at the time the incident occurred," SFC Evan Antley said in an email. "This case is still open and has been assigned to one of our Investigators for follow up."

As for the meth that was not the man's, police took it and could not determine who it belonged to. It was confiscated to be destroyed.
