SOUTH HACKENSACK, NJ (CNN) – Police said a traffic stop led to the discovery of bags of crack, heroin, a crack pipe and needle in the vehicle of a man who portrays Santa Claus.
Charles Smith was stopped on Route 46, and police said the crack pipe was clearly visible along with the Santa suit, the Hackensack Daily Voice reported.
A search led to the other items.
Smith, 66, is a former New Jersey Transit worker, the report said, adding that he was charged with possession of drug paraphernalia, and released pending a court hearing.
