(CNN) - Samsung is gearing up to release its newest smartphone, the Galaxy Note 8.
The company said the new phone will be unveiled next month. The announcement comes less than a year after Samsung recalled the Galaxy Note 7 because it was catching fire due to a battery defect.
The recalls cost the company billions of dollars.
Depending on the country, the new phone will be on store shelves in September through October.
Apple, Samsung's largest and most prominent rival, will also debut its new iPhone around the same time.
