(CNN) - Russia and Belarus are executing joint strategic exercises until Wednesday. Belarus is located east of Poland on Russia’s border.
The nations are testing their capabilities in case of an attack, they said. NATO says up to 100,00 Russian troops are taking part in the exercises, but Russia denies that number, saying it is less than 15,000.
At least 70 aircraft and 250 tanks are involved in the maneuvers. The drills are taking place on Russian and Belarus soil.
