Restaurant served 4-year-old alcoholic milkshake, mother says

CRANBERRY TOWNSHIP, PA (WPXI/CNN) – A Pennsylvania mother says her son drank half of a milkshake containing vodka before she looked at the receipt and realized the mistake.

Brianne Mckee and her 4-year-old son, Stryler, ordered food and drinks Sunday at a restaurant called BRGR in Cranberry Township, PA.

As a treat, Stryler got a s’mores milkshake to go. He was halfway through the drink when his mother says he told her he didn’t feel well.

“My tongue was feeling funny,” Stryler said.

Mckee took the drink from her 4-year-old and checked the receipt, which said “adult milkshake.” The milkshake had vodka in it.

“He was a little drunk,” Mckee said.

Mckee says she got upset about the mistake, and the restaurant gave her a refund for the drink. But the mother says management didn’t act concerned.

“Nobody cared, and I’m getting loud… It was like nobody had kids or nobody understood why I was so heartsick,” Mckee said.

BRGR apologized for the “unacceptable” matter in a statement. The restaurant is reviewing its training procedures on alcohol safety to make sure this doesn’t happen again.

Mckee took Stryler to the doctor Monday, and they’re running some tests as a precaution.
