(CNN) - Former ESPN president, John Skipper has revealed to the ‘Hollywood Reporter,’ that he stepped down last year because of a cocaine extortion plot.

Skipper said in the interview that he had always been careful about his cocaine usage.

The problem, Skipper said, was his decision to buy from a new supplier.

That supplier, according to Skipper, threatened him and he believed his family and professional life were in danger.

He said he discussed the situation with "Bob" - presumably Disney CEO, Bob Iger, and that Iger agreed that Skipper should resign.

ESPN provided no comment on the story and Skipper could not be reached for comment.
