(CNN) - A record number of travelers are heading out of town this Fourth of July.
AAA said 44.2 million people will travel 50 miles or more from their homes. That's an increase of 1.25 million travelers over last year, making it the most traveled Independence Day weekend since AAA has been counting.
Most of those travelers will drive. Cruises are also expected to be a big draw for the long holiday weekend.
This year, the Fourth of July is a Tuesday.
