MOSCOW (Radio Free Europe/CNN) - A young lady protesting was among those attending the unveiling of statues of communist leaders Joe Stalin and Vladimir Lenin as part of the Walk of Rulers in Moscow.
Lenin was the first leader of the communist state. After he died in 1924, Stalin gained power.
In a video, a man is seen snatching away a sign from the lady protesting at the event.
The statues were unveiled on Friday alongside those of five other Soviet leaders: Nikita Khrushchev, Leonid Brezhnev, Yury Andropov, Konstantin Chernenko, and Mikhail Gorbachev, the last leader of the Soviet Union.
The Walk of Rulers opened in 2016 to showcase historic figures who had ruled Russia.
Public support for Soviet dictator Stalin has increased in recent years, with statues and monuments appearing in many Russian cities.
