ROCKFORD, IL (WIFR/CNN) - Family, friends and loved ones in an Illinois community are honoring a fallen officer. The body of Rockford police officer Jamie Cox, 30, arrived on Friday for weekend memorial services.
Cox was killed in the line of duty on Sunday during a traffic stop. Investigators are now looking at surveillance video to find out how Cox died, WIFR reports.
But they say another man was found dead with a gunshot wound inside of a vehicle at the scene. His name is Eddie Patterson, 49.
Cox is being honored with several services including a formal police funeral, and a traditional procession.
