FORT LAUDERDALE, FL (WPLG/CNN) - A sailboat captain was cooking breakfast on Thursday when the craft caught fire, prompting him to jump into the water off the coast of Florida.
A tow boat rescued the man who was riding in an inflatable raft, a tow boat captain told WPLG.
A Miami-Dade Fire Rescue boat put out the fire with foam and water. The 41-foot sailboat was badly burned and towed in to a marina.
The captain was the only person on the boat, officials said.
