MILWAUKEE (WISN/CNN) - A rare Pablo Picasso painting was stolen Friday from DeLind Fine Art Appraisals in downtown Milwaukee.

The piece, "Torero," is one of 30 in existence.

Business owner Bill DeLind said it is worth between $35,000 and $50,000.

Theft happened between noon and 2 p.m., DeLind said.

"An unknown person came in and took a very interesting picture, (a) Picasso,” he said. “It was an original aquatint, very rare and very beautiful, and it's gone."

The prints resembling a watercolor, produced from a copper plate etched with nitric acid, has a bold, green signature by Picasso.

The painting was hanging in the lobby area where people could see it on their way to the second floor office.

"I trust people,” DeLind said. “I just don't like the idea that people are dishonest. I just trust people."

He said they will be upgrading their security system and cameras.

Milwaukee police confirm a report has been filed.
