FRESNO-VISALIA, CA (KGPE/CNN) - A pregnant woman was killed in a car crash Monday morning.
Emergency responders delivered the baby on-scene with a cesarean section.
There's been no word yet on the newborn's condition.
Officials said the mother was between six to nine months pregnant.
She struck another car head-on after she crossed into the path of oncoming traffic.
There was also a 10-year-old boy in the back of the mom's car. His condition is unknown.
Both drivers were killed at the scene.
"We did find evidence here on-scene that leads us to believe possibly one of the drivers of the vehicles is impaired," said California Highway Patrol's Sgt. Mike Trenholm. "We won't be able to determine definitively until an autopsy is performed."
Investigators don't know if drugs or alcohol were involved.
