GLENDALE, WI (WISN/CNN) -   A suspect’s car in a police pursuit ended up in a river on Thursday in Glendale following an alleged bank robbery.

The vehicle went eight to 12 feet down an embankment into the Milwaukee River after the police pursuit.

It all took place in a wooded, residential neighborhood. Parkway Elementary School also was briefly put into lockdown status as officers took two suspects into custody.

Canine units were even brought in to track for potential evidence that may have been discarded in the pursuit.

Everything is OK at U.S. Bank.

"Officers responded to the scene and observed a suspicious vehicle traveling at a high rate of speed southbound on Green Bay. Officers attempted to initiate a pursuit. Continued the pursuit into Glendale, with the assistance of the Glendale Police Department. Pursuit was terminated when the suspect's vehicle entered the river,” said officer Nick Andersen of the Brown Deer Police Department.
