BAYTOWN, TX (KTRK/CNN) - A Texas police officer faces bribery charges after authorities said he offered to get rid of a woman's traffic ticket in exchange for naked photos.
Michael Coppock was a Baytown police officer, but now he faces a bribery charge.
"Our agency was notified that one of our officers solicited sexually suggestive photos from a female who he'd issued a citation to in exchange for changing that citation to a warning," Lt. Steve Dorris said.
It sparked an investigation, one administrative and the other criminal, with both coming to a head this month.
Coppock was indefinitely suspended and essentially dismissed from duty at the beginning of May.
Today he was indicted on the felony charge.
"We are still exploring whether this has happened in the past. We don't have any evidence to indicate that but we're definitely looking at those angles," Dorris said.
Michael Coppock was previously no billed in the shooting of a suspect in a domestic dispute.
