GLEN ELLYN, IL (WLS/CNN) – An Illinois couple was seriously injured, after being attacked by a hitman allegedly hired by their 23-year-old son.
Deputies say 18-year-old Michael Targo attacked the couple with a hammer at their home early Sunday morning.
The victims’ son, 23-year-old Joshua Miceli, agreed to pay Targo if he killed his parents, investigators say.
But Targo was arrested shortly after the attack, and investigators say Miceli later implicated himself in the plot.
Both men are being held without bond. They’re facing first-degree attempted murder, among other charges.
