OMAHA, NE (KETV/CNN) - A police-involved altercation has gone viral, with cell phone video showing an officer shoving a woman to the ground.
The video prompted an internal investigation at the Omaha Police Department. But Brandon Dahir, the man who recorded it, defended the officer's action.
"To this point, she's grabbing the cop's arm," said Dahir while re-watching the video.
Dahir said a guy started a bar fight around 2 a.m. Sunday, and police were trying to get him and his girlfriend to leave, "but he just kept causing more problems."
"And they warned her multiple times get away get away and she wouldn't leave," Dahir said.
He said she eventually grabbed an officer, which is when the other female police officer pushed her.
"It looked a lot harder than it should've been because she was pretty intoxicated as well,' Dahir said.
He tweeted the video, leading to a response from the police department Twitter account:
"Chief authorized an internal investigation 2 investigate the ENTIRE incident, not just the snippet captured here #2early2jump2conclusions."

"I think it got to the point where she was getting out of control and it was affecting the cop's arrest," Dahir said.
Dahir does not think it was a case of excessive force, and he hopes his account will be taken into consideration. It's unclear if anyone was arrested after the incident.
Omaha police said its officers must document any incidents of force for supervisor review.
