PHOENIX (KNXV/CNN) - A male suspect shot and killed three people in Phoenix after threatening his wife and child Wednesday.
Josh Archer who happened to be recording a video nearby captured the shots.
"I was worried, thinking that they were going to come over here, try and take the truck and get away because it was just right over there,” Archer said. “So close."
Phoenix police said that was likely the sound of the suspect shooting three of his neighbors to death.
The suspect threatened his wife and child right before that, police said.
The wife ran to another neighbor's house and called police.
"After the wife left, that is when the suspect went out and shot these other three men," said Sgt. Alan Pfohl of the Phoenix Police Department.
When police arrived on scene, they said the husband was in a pickup truck.
He got out with a gun and an officer fired one time.
The suspect was injured after the encounter with officers.
"We don't know if the injury is from officer, or self-inflicted," Pfohl said.
The suspect went down behind a vehicle, eventually pulled out by a police K-9.
Police later discovered the three men shot by the suspect at a nearby house.
"How these other three became involved, we don't have those answers just yet," Pfohl said.
The suspect was taken to the hospital in extremely critical condition.
