HARRIS COUNTY, TX (KTRK/CNN) - A pilot flying an F-16 ejected himself after it caught fire during takeoff Wednesday.
It happened in Harris County, TX, at Ellington Field, which supports various operations of the U.S. military and NASA.
The jet was reportedly carrying air missiles.
The pilot was taken to the hospital for evaluation. There is no word on his condition.
The plane and pilot were on a training mission attached to Operation Noble Eagle, which was established after 9/11 to create an air defense shield for the U.S.
