(CNN) - Eight passengers are suing Southwest Airlines over the mid-air engine failure that left a woman dead in April.
Jennifer Riordan was nearly sucked out of the plane when debris from the engine broke a window during the flight.
She was pulled back in but died later at the hospital. The plane made an emergency landing.
Investigators found that a fan blade was missing from the engine that failed.
According to the suit filed Tuesday, the plaintiffs cite injuries including hearing loss and post-traumatic stress disorder. Some even say the impact of the incident ruined their marriages.
The suit also names GE Aviation Systems, Boeing, Safran USA and CFM International as co-defendants.
Southwest and three of the other companies declined to comment.
Safran USA did not respond to CNN's request for comment.
After the incident, Southwest gave all 144 passengers $5,000 and a $1,000 credit toward Southwest airfare, as well as transportation to their final destination.
