DAYTON, OH (WDTN/CNN) – Many people include their children’s teacher on their Christmas gift list, but it can be hard to find the perfect present – not so for one Ohio family.
The Sommers family decided this year the usual gift ideas would not suffice, so the parents bought bottles of wine for their elementary school-aged son’s teachers.
They replaced the label on each bottle with one that had a picture of their son and an inscription that read, “Our child might be the reason you drink so enjoy this bottle on us!”
The boy’s older brother, DJ Sommers, tweeted about his parents’ gift idea, and the story went viral.
“It was more of a thank you because I know I can't spend six hours in a room with my little brother, and they've been doing that every day for however long he's been in school. So, they all got a good kick out of it too,” Sommers said.
Sommers says everyone thought the gifts were funny, and they were well-received.
