(CNN) - Former President Barack Obama has been summoned for jury duty in Illinois.
CNN affiliate WLS reported Obama received a notice from Cook County to appear next month, and he plans to serve.
The former president still lives in Washington, DC, but he maintains a home in Chicago.
Obama is not the first former commander-in-chief to receive a jury summons. George W. Bush reported for jury duty in Dallas two years ago, but he was not selected.
