NEW YORK CITY (WABC/CNN) - Strong rats are dragging plastic garbage bags across sidewalks in a New York City neighborhood and getting the attention of residents.
Remember the viral video of the New York City rat dragging a massive slice of pizza down a staircase? Well, it looks like that ravenous rodent has some competition.
A woman in New York caught a similar spectacle on camera last week. A big, and strong, rat dragging an even bigger bag of garbage across a sidewalk.
"This dude is dragging a bag of garbage," one man said as he watched the video. Day and night the rats are not shy to make their presence known, one resident said. "Even when I'm standing in front of my house, you see them running past your feet like they playing tag. It's like this is their block," a man said.
Residents say they have found rats on stoves in their homes, and have stopped up holes rats have used to disappear. But to no avail. They have called the city multiple times about the rats but the rodents remain. The rats are undaunted.
“If they dragging plastic bags, what will they going to want to eat next?” one man asked.
