NEW BRUNSWICK, NJ (WPIX/CNN) - A young nurse who's been on the job for just nine months put her life-saving skills to the test on a Jet Blue flight recently.

Courtney Donlon was flying home to New Jersey from Las Vegas when another passenger began experiencing symptoms of a heart attack.

Donlon sprang into action, giving the woman aspirin and administering oxygen to help stabilize her.

She also persuaded the captain to make an emergency landing in Charleston.

"I was in the right place at the right time. They told me that she was feeling excruciating pain of her left arm and over into the back, and for them they weren't sure what that meant. I myself felt confident in what I was doing,” she said.

The woman she helped was hospitalized and is recovering.
