(INSTAGRAM/CNNMONEY) - Instagram rolled out a new tool on Thursday designed to help stop internet trolls.
Users now have an option labeled "Hide Offensive Comments" that can be applied to any photo or video.
When activated, the tool automatically hides any sexually explicit or otherwise offensive comment from everyone except the person who posted it.
Instagram said this helps prevent users from working around the technology.
The social media platform also launched a spam filter that deletes promotional and other spam-like comments from posts and videos.
Users can still manually report, delete and turn off comments.
