(CNN) - Astronauts took a spacewalk Friday, and NASA has partnered with Google to allow anyone to "walk" on Mars.
Randy Bresnik and Joe Acaba stepped outside the International Space Station on Friday to conduct maintenance on the orbiter's robotic arm. They lubricated some recently replaced hardware on the arm and replaced some of the ISS' external cameras.
It was the third spacewalk in the last weeks for the astronauts on board the space station.
While it's not as dangerous as venturing into space 250 miles above Earth, NASA attempting to bring part of that experience to the Earth-bound.
Access Mars was released Thursday as a virtual reality experience that simulates walking on Mars and provides close-up views of discoveries made the Curiosity rover and information about the rover.
The feature can be viewed at AccessMars.com on a computer, smartphone or virtual reality headset.
