(NASA/CNN) - Friday is International Asteroid Day, and NASA is providing a unique way for you to celebrate the occasion.

They're providing a 24-hour live broadcast to mark the occasion.

The live stream includes everything you ever wanted to know about asteroids and the dangers they pose.

The event commemorates Earth's largest-recorded asteroid impact.

In 1908, a powerful asteroid struck a river in a remote Siberian forest of Russia, leveling trees and destroying forests across 770 square miles.

Asteroids hit Earth every day, according to a NASA investigator. But most of them are small particles that burn up in the atmosphere.

On average, several car-sized asteroids hit the Earth every year.
