(RNN) - A gunman is dead after opening fire on a church service in Sutherland Springs, TX, outside San Antonio on Sunday.
CNN reported witnesses described approximately 20 shots being fired and KSAT cited police sources saying the shooter was killed.
Reports of casualties are inconclusive.
Witnesses described a shooter opening fire during the church service followed by a brief vehicle chase by police. It is not known whether police shot the gunman or if he killed himself.

Texas Gov. Greg Abbott tweeted that prayers are with the victims of the "evil act."
