(WJAR/CNN) - Cindy Rounds died in 2010 at the age of 53 without ever realizing her dream of traveling.
So her daughter in Rhode Island decided to symbolically send her mom on a world tour. She placed her mother’s ashes and personal story in a bottle and sent it out to sea.
Then years later, on Friday, Rounds made contact with her family one more time – sort of.
The bottle returned to shore more than 1,000 miles away in Florida.
