PLYMOUTH, MA (WBZ/CNN) – After twin 9-year-old girls went missing after school Wednesday, police located them in the custody of their mother, who was charged with kidnapping.
Twin 9-year-olds Je t’aime and Dasia Valentine were reunited with their father, who has full custody of both girls, Thursday morning.
Police found the girls in Lewiston, ME, approximately 180 miles from home, with their mother and her boyfriend, who were both arrested and charged with kidnapping.
Je t’aime and Dasia were last seen around 4 p.m. Wednesday when they were dropped off at their bus stop in Plymouth, MA. Authorities say a parent wasn’t there to pick them up.
After reviewing surveillance video in the area, police identified a man, who took the girls from a nearby store, as their mother’s boyfriend.
When they went to the boyfriend’s address in Maine, they found the couple and the girls.
Police say the twins didn’t appear to be harmed, but they were forcibly taken.
