IOWA CITY, IA (KCRG/CNN) – A woman who was born during the solar eclipse in 1979 gave birth during the eclipse of 2017.
Dawn Gettler gave birth to Clair on Monday. The baby was a few days late arriving, KCRG said in a report.
“We were kind of hoping to have her on the 17th because that's my husband's birthday so he kind of wanted a birthday baby. But she held out for Monday, the eclipse day," said Dawn Gettler of South Amana.
The Gettlers are making plans to see the next solar eclipse in 2024.
Dawn Gettler was born on Feb. 26, 1979, the day of a solar eclipse in the U.S.
