NORTH MIAMI BEACH, FL (CNN) - The North Miami Beach Police Department used its armored personnel carrier to rescue a mother and her 4-month-old child from her flooded home.
Neighbors called in to report that the two were trapped in their Highland Village home.
The first responders said the two were in three feet of water.
They were taken to a shelter. Police are also checking cars under downed trees for people in need of rescues.
