A Mississippi soldier rushed home to his pregnant wife, only to have his plane delayed just as she is going into labor.
What happened next, went viral.
A photo of Specialist Brooks Lindsey is taking the internet by storm and this video is even better.
It shows Brooks at the Dallas airport, watching his daughter being born via FaceTime
"When my mom FaceTimed me and said 'she's pushing, it's coming,' I went off to the side to watch it by myself," said Brooks. "And apparently, a couple of them were taking pictures of me and videotaping me. When I got on the plane, they were congratulating me and had told all the pilots and stewardess and everything."
Millie FritzAnne Lindsey made her appearance into the world at Friday, May 4 at 5:23 p.m.
"She's 21 inches long, seven pounds, six ounces and a head full of hair," said the proud father.
Had Brooks' flight actually left on time, he would have likely missed Millie's birth.
"It was a blessing," said Brooks. "Blessing in disguise that I got to see it firsthand, or via FaceTime. That was pretty awesome and we have a pretty awesome story to tell about her birth.
His wife Haley agrees.
"He told me 'some lady was videotaping me'," said Haley. "He showed me the video and I heard the doctor say 'push, push, push, push'. And I saw his facial expressions and I was like 'oh my gosh'. So it was really awesome and the lady that videotaped that, we appreciate that."
Haley and Brooks are still newlyweds, married in November of 2017. These last few months have taken this young military family by storm, but they don't take it for granted.
"But there's a lot of people who don't get to come home or don't get to see their kid born on FaceTime or Skype, or anything like that," said Brooks. "And by the time they get home, their kid is like 9 months old. So, just keep those people in your prayers. It's awesome to have a kid. It's awesome to have a kid, but there's a bunch of people who don't get to see it first hand."
"I guess that you don’t realize at the moment how important things are," said Haley.
