(RNN) - A U.S. military helicopter has crashed in Western Iraq, CNN reported on Thursday.
The network cited Pentagon sources. The cause was unknown, though officials told the network early indications did not suggest it came down under fire.
CNN reported seven crew were on board for a noncombat mission.
The crash occurred near the border with Syria.The aircraft was a HH-60 Black Hawk variant.
