SANTIAGO, CHILE (CHILEVISION/CNN) - Boxer Mike Tyson was denied entry to Chile on Thursday.

Video surfaced of Tyson at Benitez International Airport in Santiago.

Chilean authorities stopped the former heavyweight boxing champion from entering the country after flying in Thursday morning.

According to a report by Chilean newspaper La Tercera, he was prohibited from entering the country due to entry requirements within their legal system because of his "negative records."

Tyson was convicted and sent to prison in Indiana for rape in 1992.

He also bit off a piece of Evander Holyfield's ear in a Las Vegas boxing ring.

Tyson was reportedly scheduled to take part in an awards show for a local Chilean cable channel.
