Mercer Elementary teacher facing felony charges

Posted

A teacher accused of stealing from other educators has been arrested.

Erin Billow, a 34-year-old Mercer Elementary School teacher, faces felony charges.

Police said she tried to steal about $300 and is accused of stealing from her co-workers at the school.

Court Records say she was a teacher's aide. The Forest Hills School District tells FOX19 NOW she was a teacher at the elementary school.

The affidavits for the case say she stole from two different teachers on two different occasions, removing a credit card from each their purses and leaving school to go purchase gift cards at a nearby gas station before returning to school.

Forest Hills Schools declined to comment but did say Billow has been put on administrative leave.

Billow's charges are stacking, two first degree misdemeanor charges for misuse of a credit card, two fifth-degree felony charges for theft and a felony charge of possession of drugs.

Court records show Billow had two oxycodone pills at the time of her arrest -- one hidden in her bra and one in her purse. That's a schedule two narcotic.

Billow is expected to be back in court March 21.
