(CNN) - Meghan Markle, Britain's newly-minted Duchess of Sussex, now has her very own coat of arms.
Kensington palace says Markle was very involved in the design of the crest.
The design includes many personal touches related to Markle's history, including golden poppies and rays of sun from her home state of California.

There is also a grove of Wintersweet, a plant that grows just outside the royal couple's cottage at Kensington palace.
Prince Harry's lion supporter is there, while Markle is supported by a songbird with an open beak.
There are also three quills to represent her love of communication and writing - and perhaps a nod to her former job as a calligrapher?
The Royal College of Arms designed the herald and it was approved by Queen Elizabeth II.
