Meet the younger, cuter Donald Trump - from Afghanistan

(RNN) – Donald Trump is not president of the United States. He’s not a billionaire. He’s not a globally recognized businessman. And he’s not a successful TV personality.

He’s not even 2 years old yet.

This is not fake news. This is about a boy in Afghanistan.

This Donald Trump lives in Kabul, the Afghan capital. He was born just before the 2016 election. His father, Sayed Assadullah, thought naming him after the man who would soon be president would give him a little good fortune in life.

Radio Free Europe and The New York Times both found the family in Afghanistan. They reported the boy’s father was a fan of Trump’s. He read his books and, according to The Times, watched his shows on TV sets powered by solar panels provided by an aid organization.

“Donald Trump has a lot of special qualities,” Assadullah told Radio Free Europe. “He’s very capable, he’s serious, and he’s a good politician and a good writer.”

He said he was inspired to name his son after Trump, “because he’s a really good person and he wrote a lot of impressive books, and because he was a successful businessman.”

He said the boy was also born with light hair, a sign he couldn’t ignore.

“When my son was born, his hair was completely blonde, and it matched Trump’s hair,” he told The Times. “So when I saw his hair, I thought, ‘I will name him Trump.’”

The family originated in Daykundi Province, in central Afghanistan. The region is mountainous but well-populated, mostly dominated by the often-persecuted Hazara ethnic minority.

Assadullah’s choice caused a stir in the family’s village. Relatives were angry with him for giving his son a non-Islamic name.

“They told me, ‘How can you select the name of an infidel for your son?’” he told The Times.

So they moved to Kabul. There, he hopes his son will grow up to be a successful politician.

He told Radio Free Europe he’s “very bright.”
