Man with 'roving sex chamber' found guilty of propositioning teens

WHEATON, MD (WJLA/CNN) – A 34-year-old man in Maryland is now a convicted sex offender after he was found guilty of sexual solicitation of a minor Tuesday.

Daniel Dickson, 34, is scheduled to be sentenced in March. He faces up to 10 years in prison and is required to register as a sex offender for at least 25 years.

Prosecutors say Dickson admitted to cruising suburban neighborhoods for women, with no concern for their age.

In June, he stopped his silver minivan near Loeiderman Middle School in Wheaton, MD, and asked two teenage sisters – ages 15 and 19 – to perform sex acts, authorities say.

The girls called police and used a cell phone to record Dickson’s license plate number.

"They called 911, they caught the license plate on video and today, we have a conviction against what seems to be a child predator,” said Ramon Korionoff, a spokesman for Montgomery County state’s attorney’s office.

When officers arrested Dickson, they found an array of condoms, body spray and a twin-sized mattress in the back of the van.

"It looks like the minivan was set up for being a roving sex chamber,” Korionoff said.

Authorities charged Dickson with a single count of sexual solicitation of a minor because the older sister was an adult.
