(CNN) - A man in New York was photographed recently wearing a sign on his back asking for help for his sick wife.
The sign read, "In need of a kidney for my wife, B-positive."
A phone number was also provided.
A CNN editor posted a picture of the man on Twitter and the posting went viral.

Celebrities, including Zach Braff and Evan Rachel Wood, shared it.
The man's name is Raymond Thompson. His wife Mylen was diagnosed with kidney disease two years ago.
Since the posting, they've received numerous calls from strangers offering Mylen a kidney.
