Man, salon workers scuffle over eyelash extensions

Posted

OKLAHOMA CITY, OK (KFOR/CNN) - A man stopped by the Fancy Nails salon for a deal on eyelash extensions. He wound up arrested for alleged assault.

"I was humiliated literally in front of the entire salon," Jorge Aguirre said.

He said he thought he made himself clear.

"Prior to the service, I asked her not to use shears on my lashes because it was going to cut my lashes, and I didn't want that to happen," Aguirre said.

When it did, Aguirre said he complained but got nowhere.

"At this point, in my head I'm really angry, and I begin to record," he said.

It's a cell phone video the manager tried to stop, Aguirre said.

"That's when the ladies just started attacking me. The lady tackled me. Couldn't get me down. I'm a big boy. Couldn't get me down, but she did tackle me, and it was just so humiliating and frustrating," he said.

The salon said Aguirre has it backwards, that he assaulted them after refusing to pay for a $200 service.

Police arrested Aguirre for pushing and punching the manager.

Aguirre said that claim "is absolutely false. ... I don`t understand why somebody would treat somebody else that way."

The State Board of Cosmetology recommends speaking to a salon's owner if you are hurt or dissatisfied with service. Customers also can call the board and file a formal complaint.
