NEW YORK (WPIX/CNN) - Jose Polanco went to the hospital for pneumonia in November, but in May his hand was amputated.
Infection and gangrene set in from the improper placing or monitoring of a blood pressure line, Polanco’s lawyer Sanford Rubinstein said on Thursday.
In May, Polanco’s right hand was amputated.
Polanco and his lawyer have filed a claim for $100 million from NYC Health and Hospitals. The hospital system has expressed its sympathy and said it is reviewing the claim.
