NEW YORK (WABC/CNN) - Tragedy struck on Christmas morning in New York when fire ripped through a Manhattan high-rise apartment, killing an elderly man. The blaze started at about 7:30 a.m.
The 76-year-old man who died has not been identified. One firefighter had minor injuries.
The fire was contained to the 35th floor apartment, and authorities did not evacuate the building.
The cause of the blaze is under investigation. The fire drew 100 firefighters before it was under control, WABC reported.
