MIDDLETOWN, CT (WFSB/CNN) - A suspect is in critical condition after officials say he slammed his car into a hospital and set himself on fire Thursday in Connecticut.
It happened at the emergency room entrance at Middlesex Hospital in Middletown.
Middletown Mayor Dan Drew said it was a deliberate act and that there were gas cans in the vehicle.
The bomb squad was also called in, according to reports.
Drew said it's believed to be an isolated incident, but added that police were investigating a nearby home and had evacuated neighboring houses.
Officials haven't released the suspect's identity.
